So let’s go over the new trends and discuss how to make them work for our Type 1 nature.
1. Boho Chic
Boho Chic takes the free-spirited, flowing lines of bohemian style that has been around for decades and adds a modern twist making it wearable for the everyday woman. Similar to the “Girlcore” trend we saw in the spring this trend pulls on the feminine energy with added details seen in frills, lace, and ruffles, but goes more textured and earthy. A lot of layering in clothing and jewelry, as well as combinations of textures and patterns. This one is all about the unconventional, artistic aesthetic with artful and eclectic prints. Flowing design lines are front and center featuring billowing dresses and trousers, and bell sleeves. While we typically see more of a rich earthy shades to capture this mood, you can bring it into your look with any color of your Type. Be creative and carefree with this one.

This trend can be a lot of fun for us Type 1s since there are a lot of options for animation, including embroidery, fringe, texture, and mixing artistic patterns. But Boho Chic has a lot of flowy lines and details like lace and frills. Keep the material light. If the flow has a heavy fabric, it’s going to feel too heavy. Keep the details animated. With lace, look for smaller touches of lace. Try not to have multiple levels of ruffles. All these things will keep the movement light and upward.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 1/2 – You are going to love this trend. If the colors are Type 1 you can go full out. Ruffles, Lace, Flow, give into it.
- Type 1/3 – Delve into pattern! Boho has such fun abstract patterns, you’re secondary Type 3 can hold these well.
- Type 1/4 – Keep the boho elements to maybe one or two items. Pants, not top. Top, not pants. You’ll feel overwhelmed if the flow is all over your body.
What keywords are important to remember for this trend? Adventuresome and Airy
2. Quiet Luxury
If Boho Chic has your head swirling with too many layers and textures, then Quiet Luxury is where you will want to steer. This trend highlights simplicity and timelessness. This trend’s philosophy prioritizes elevated essentials over excessive ornamentation or branding. Think “quality over quantity.” It is characterized by clean lines, understated elegance, and impeccable craftsmanship. The color palette tends to be neutral and muted, emphasizing timeless shades like black, white, beige, and navy. Quiet luxury garments often feature subtle details and high-quality materials such as cashmere, silk, organic cotton, and fine wool, which enhance both comfort and durability. It’s about effortless style, confidence, and understated elegance in every piece worn.

With the straight lines and simplicity this trend doesn’t favor us. BUT! of course we can make it work. A lot of neutrals are used in this trend, so take those neutrals and turn them into something with color. Have the color not include a pattern, so you have the simplicity of the style still there. Then have the other items in the outfit be neutrals. Look for the buttons to be more animated with gold or pearl, or something similar.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 1/2 – You’ll want to add dainty jewelry so the outfit doesn’t feel too stiff. Satin skirts are also part of this trend, which will be wonderful for you.
- Type 1/3 – Edge it up with a dirtier jean with a nice blazer. Add secondary 3 jewelry to make the look more dynamic.
- Type 1/4 – This trend works very nicely for you. Make sure to add animation where you can, buttons, jewelry, and color.

3. One-Piece Dressing
“One-piece dressing” simplifies outfit choices by offering complete looks in a single garment. We’re talking overalls, jumpsuits, and sweater dresses. Overalls, often in denim or cotton, provide a casual, utilitarian vibe. Jumpsuits combine tops and trousers ranging from casual rompers, business wear, to elegant evening wear. Sweater dresses offer warmth and comfort with styles from mini to maxi. These pieces that can create a bold statement are also known for their effortless style and comfort!
Does this trend favor Type 1, and how to make it work?
This trend absolutely works for us! We’ve been wearing dresses all along, but now we can add jumpsuits and rompers without hesitation. Play up the pattern, and use all the fun colors. This trend is really fun, and you don’t have to pick two pieces of your outfit—just one!
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 1/2 – Pick a dress with more flow, longer length. Same with a romper, wide legs will feel very comfortable for you.
- Type 1/3 – Add texture with the fabric, choose designs that can play up your secondary, like animal print.
- Type 1/4 – A sleeker design line that is more fitted will work well for you.

4. Camouflage and Leopard Print Patterns
Camouflage Print: Known for its rugged, military-inspired look, this fall/winter trend is swapping the traditional greens and browns for unexpected color combinations.
Leopard Print: This timeless pattern is nothing new, but it’s returning as the main attraction this fall/winter. This versatile pattern acts as both a bold statement and a neutral, pairing well with solids or other prints.
Both these prints add flair and versatility to fall and winter wardrobes, enhancing both casual and dressy outfits with their distinctive patterns.
Does this trend favor Type 1, and how to make it work?
This trend doesn’t favor Type 1, it’s very much Type 3. But let’s make it work… with color!! Pink camo is easiest to find. With leopard find the ones with the dark chocolate and an apricot background. Use your style guide to make sure the colors are correct for you.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 1/2 – Find camo and leopard with smaller shapes, not the big and bold traditional sizes.
- Type 1/3 – Just find the right color and your golden.
- Type 1/4 – This one may be an interesting challenge for you. You may not like either of these patterns. I’d suggest finding it in an accessory. That way, you get the trend but not too much of it.

5. The Colors Black Cherry and Azure Blue
Unexpected color combinations are trending this season, so try wearing these two colors together!

“Black cherry” refers to a deep, luxurious shade of reddish-purple. It has a rich and sophisticated appearance. Its deep hue evokes warmth and elegance, complementing a range of skin tones and pairing beautifully with neutrals and jewel tones. Black cherry adds a touch of depth and refinement to any outfit. To acheive the right hue of black cherry for your Type, remember your keyword: “bright” and use your Style Guides!

We need to fudge this trend a bit. A true Dark cherry is burgundy and won’t work for us. So we’re going to go to the deepest red that we can. Which is SUCH a beautiful color, so we can still wear and love this trend. Think of the dark shade a cherry can get. That’s the color you want to find.
Any secondary Type considerations?
Since this is a color, all secondaries follow the Type 1 rule. Find a red that is a dark cherry while still being bright.
What keywords are important to remember for this trend? Deep and Bright
Blue is always a popular color, but this fall/winter Azure Blue is in the spotlight. Think brighter, lighter blue. Other color names are cobalt, lapis, or cornflower blue. These lighter shades mix well and add a vibrant pop of color to the darker autumnal tones so prevalent in fall and winter. While this trend focuses on lighter shades of blue, you may want a refresher on all blues true to your Type. This video series is a great place to start. And as always, refer to your Style Guides!

This trend is fantastic! We get to play with a blue you might not normally pick. When shopping online, I like to Google “cornflower” blue. Do this, and you’ll be on the right track with color.
Any secondary Type considerations?
There are no secondary considerations, as this is a color that all Type 1s can wear.

6. Shoes – Loafers
The classic loafer is known for its casual yet stylish appearance, featuring chunky sole textured materials like suede and velvet, as well as patent leather. Embellishments such as buckles and tassels transform basic loafers into statement pieces. Classic colors like black and brown remain staples, but brighter colors and patterns like animal prints are emerging. Versatile and weather-ready designs this shoe is all about comfort and style.

These shoes might feel a little sleeker, or chunkier, or smoother then you’d like. BUT you can totally make them work for you. Color, color, color. The fun thing about this trend is there are so many color options out there. So you are sure to find many colorful fun ones to wear. Google “colorful loafers” and you’ll find a whole slew of options.

7. Jewelry
Big and bold jewelry is trending this season – large button earrings (think 80s), big artistically sculpted earrings, bold cuffs and larger necklaces. Pendant necklaces emerge as a staple, with designs ranging from delicate charms to bold, oversized pendants that serve as statement pieces. Pearls maintain their time in the spotlight and are appearing in more styles and colors than ever before.

What a fun trend! With the simpler jewelry dominating for a few years it’ll be fun wearing the bigger and bolder styles again.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 1/2 – You don’t need to play in the super bold. Try going a little larger than you have.
- Type 1/3 – Oh yeah, play in this! Bigger, chunkier, heavier. I think you are going to like this one.
