So let’s go over the new trends and discuss how to make them work for our Type 4 nature.
1. Boho Chic
Boho Chic takes the free-spirited, flowing lines of bohemian style that has been around for decades and adds a modern twist making it wearable for the everyday woman. Similar to the “Girlcore” trend we saw in the spring this trend pulls on the feminine energy with added details seen in frills, lace, and ruffles, but goes more textured and earthy. A lot of layering in clothing and jewelry, as well as combinations of textures and patterns. This one is all about the unconventional, artistic aesthetic with artful and eclectic prints. Flowing design lines are front and center featuring billowing dresses and trousers, and bell sleeves. While we typically see more of a rich earthy shades to capture this mood, you can bring it into your look with any color of your Type. Be creative and carefree with this one.
Does this trend favor Type 4 and how to make it work?
Of all the trends this season, this is the least Type 4 in the technical sense. But it can be done. Remember the 3X5 rule and keep at least three of the five elements (designline, texture, fabrication, pattern, and color) in your outfit strictly Type 4, and you can make it work. For example, mix a flowing skirt with a structured ribbed top—or boho floral print embroidery on your solid-colored dress.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 4/1 – You’ll love the open possibilities of this trend. Play with patterns and ruffles.
- Type 4/2 – The flowing lines in this trend will feel amazing, and detailed patterns will add interest.
- Type 4/3 – Push the line with this and try something bold and unexpected!

2. Quiet Luxury
If Boho Chic has your head swirling with too many layers and textures, then Quiet Luxury is where you will want to steer. This trend highlights simplicity and timelessness. This trend’s philosophy prioritizes elevated essentials over excessive ornamentation or branding. Think “quality over quantity.” It is characterized by clean lines, understated elegance, and impeccable craftsmanship. The color palette tends to be neutral and muted, emphasizing timeless shades like black, white, beige, and navy. Quiet luxury garments often feature subtle details and high-quality materials such as cashmere, silk, organic cotton, and fine wool, enhancing comfort and durability. It’s about effortless style, confidence, and understated elegance in every piece worn.

There’s no “trend” about this one for Type 4. This timeless aesthetic is the core of the Type 4 style. Give yourself time this season to invest in quality classics you can wear for years. Quality pieces can be found to fit most budgets. It’s better to have one great sweater than four cheap ones. The beauty of this trend is in its simplicity. And yet, it’s important to remember the details to keep this style from looking flat.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 4/1 – Delicate embellishments like pearl buttons, and sparkling jewelry will add charm and whimsy to this structured style.
- Type 4/2 – Let yourself sink into the plush comfort of quality sweaters and well-fitted clothing. Pearl earrings and delicate pendants add subtle details that enhance your outfits.

3. One-piece Dressing
“One-piece dressing” simplifies outfit choices by offering complete looks in a single garment. We’re talking overalls, jumpsuits, and sweater dresses. Overalls, often in denim or cotton, provide a casual, utilitarian vibe. Jumpsuits combine tops and trousers ranging from casual rompers, business wear, to elegant evening wear. Sweater dresses offer warmth and comfort with styles from mini to maxi. These pieces that can create a bold statement are also known for their effortless style and comfort!

The uniform simplicity of one-piece dressing perfectly aligns with Type 4 energy. Although overalls aren’t strictly one-piece, they still offer the ease of allowing one item of clothing to be the feature of the overall (pun intended) outfit. They have a natural youthfulness and may not appeal to all Type 4 women. Consider the fabrication in jumpsuits, as they can often come in very flowing fabrics, choose fabrics with medium structure. The sweater dress is a sly one; you get to feel warm and comfy while looking chic and sophisticated.
Any secondary Type considerations?
- Type 4/1 -You may like the playful quality of overalls. Try a pattern in your jumpsuit. Add more animation with jewelry and accessories over your solid-colored sweater dress.
- Type 4/2 – Jumpsuits and sweater dresses favor your more minimal nature. Enjoy the ease of this trend.
- Type 4/3 – While overalls may seem too youthful or impractical, explore the options with jumpsuits and sweater dresses. They are truly a one-and-done.

4. Camouflage and Leopard Print Patterns
Camouflage Print: Known for its rugged, military-inspired look this fall/winter trend is swapping the traditional greens and browns for unexpected color combinations.
Leopard Print: this timeless pattern is nothing new, but it’s coming back as the main attraction this fall/winter. This pattern is versatile acting as both a bold statement and a neutral, pairing well with solids or other prints.
Both these prints add flair and versatility to fall and winter wardrobes, enhancing both casual and dressy outfits with their distinctive patterns.
