Making your outfit feel “just right”, or “something’s off”. We’ve linked some necklace options similar to those shown for each style.
Type 1 Necklines for Your Fun and Animated Necklaces
(00:22) V-Neck, the star-point neckline. Follow the V shape of the neckline with a dainty pendant inside the neckline, a longer necklace laying on the top, or a statement piece that mirrors the V shape.
(2:33) Wide or Boat Neck. Pair with a long necklace that hangs well below the neckline, or a round necklace that sits in the open space made by the neckline.
(3: 57) Classic Collar. What you choose depends on whether you like your collar buttoned up or left open a bit. You can either wear a larger bib-style necklace outside the collar, or a smaller necklace peeking out from inside the collar.
(4:47) Mandarine Collar. This neckline looks best with a cute little pop right inside the V of the opening.
(5:41) Scoop Neck. The options are wide open with this one, just like the open space that the neckline creates.
(6:34) Jewel/Crew Neck. You’ve got lots of options with this one too. It looks great with a long necklace, a round necklace, and a pendant too.
(6:58) Cowl Neck (sort of). This one offers the element of surprise.
Type 2 Necklines for Your Lovely, Detailed Necklaces
(1:18) Scoop Neck. This neckline creates open space, fill that space and create connection with a longer scoop necklace. A thin scarf is also a lovely option.
(2:08) Mandarine Collar. Soften this structured neckline with a dainty necklace that fits in the open space, and large-scale earrings.
(2:57) Cowl Neck. Add a longer pendant necklace to bring interest and contrast with the oval shapes of the soft collar.
(3:24) Jewel/Crew Neck. Enhance your look by adding details from a range of necklace styles. You can add a long necklace or statement that sits along the neckline.
(4:51) Classic Collar. A necklace can elegantly be worn inside the collar or outside. Adjust the length to allow it to be seen and to lay nicely.
(6:16) V-Neck. Create a central focus that doesn’t compete with the neckline. Choose a shorter necklace that softens the V shape, or a long pendant that compliments the V shape.
Type 3 Necklines and Angled, Chunky Necklaces to Match
(00:38) Classic Collar. This classic neckline creates dynamic angles that can be highlighted with a larger statement worn outside the collar or a small to medium-sized necklace placed inside the collar.
(1:23) Deep V-Neck. This neckline gives you lots of open space to work with. Fill it with a larger necklace, or stack for an even more dynamic look.
(3:07) Interest Neckline. This is a neckline that features a decorative detail. Choose a necklace that compliments, not one that competes for attention.
(4:09) Substantial Colllar. A great choice for this is a longer drop pendant with a large pair of earrings to create balance.
(5:02) Jewel/Crew Neck. Add a necklace that creates angles and substance by the face.
(5:43) Mandarine Collar. Create a peek-a-boo of texture with a necklace that sits within the collar’s opening.
Type 4 Necklines and Perfect Necklaces to Complement Them
(00:20) Classic Collar. You have two primary options with this neckline, you can either do a larger bib-style outside the collar or a smaller necklace inside the opening.
(1:57) Jewel/Crew Neck. This is the easiest neckline to accessorize. One style that looks great is a rounded necklace that mirrors the shape of the neckline.
(2:46) Turtle Neck. This classic neckline is strikingly complimented by a long pendant necklace.
(2:46) Mandarine Collar. This structured neckline creates a long opening that perfectly showcases a small to medium-sized pendant.
(3:19) Scoop Neck. Large statement necklaces have all the room they need with the open space created by this open neckline, but small necklaces also look great.
(3:52) V-Neck. Mirroring the V shape is the rule of thumb with this neckline. Choose a size and color that complements the fabric and finish of your top.
